Another pair of polished shoe,
Still waits at the rack,
In the shelf,
Near the Delph......
You asked me to keep it ready,
When you had one already,
The one you were wearing,
Daddy- so uncaring,
It was so muddy,
Full of cruddy....
I polished it for you to go,
To a holy place away from home,
Is it a temple -- No,
But at the end of rome....
You asked me to be strong,
And never do wrong,
Never let mother cry,
Even if you die....
I said I will
But you need to come back
As another pair of polished shoe ,
Still awaits on the rack,
In the shelf,
Near the Delph.....
People called you brave
When you were at your grave
The shoe you wore
Is now at the door,
It is all torn,
And can't be worn.....
You had no feet,
No heart to beat,
Covered in our nation's flag,
When you came sleeping in a bag....
Mother cried a lot,
But the promise I didn't forgot,
As you kept yours and came back,
But another pair of polished shoe,
Still awaits on the rack,
In the shelf,
Near the Delph.......
AASTHA SINHA
Another pair of polished shoe....
